John Crane is currently a graduate student studying for a doctorate degree at Georgia Institute of Technology in the School of Aerospace Engineering. He studies low emissions combustion, specifically developing the Stagnation Point Reverse Flow Combustor. He is supported by a National Science Foundation Fellowship, which he received in 2005.
Prior to graduate school, he attended the University of Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering in 2004. He worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the Interdisciplinary Microsystems Group developing quantitative schlieren flow visualizations of MEMS flow actuators and acoustic waves. He also served as the group webmaster.
